At 7:30 this morning my beautiful Ralphie died. He was in hospital since Tuedsay, after losing the ability to get himself up. Turns out that he had no arthritis at all and an MRI revealed a huge tumor in his brain. It explains so much of what had been going on over the past few months, his vagueness and confusion, which we had kind of dismissed as just him getting old and senile. The poor boy must have been getting some monster headaches on his bad days, at least now his pain is gone and he is at peace. I miss him so much! He was such an inspiring dog for a bearmaker to have around, and no doubt he will continue to be a great inspiration to me.

Oh My God Linda! You must be devastated. I am so very sorry to hear he's gone...and he didn't even cry.

Now you have me worried over Woody, you remember we discussed they had very similar symptoms.

Sending you big hugs and cuddles.

Hi Linda

Sorry to hear your sad news.I know just how you must be feeling.

Its only 3 weeks since poor old Toby went and I miss him. Even though he slept a lot of the time the house seems incredibly quiet without him. The only consolation is that there is no more pain.

Thinking of you.

Hugs

Oh Linda, my heart goes out to you and Chris.  I know there's probably not a lot we can say to make you both feel any better, but please know that all of us here are thinking of you.

Although today is a dark day now Ralph is gone, know that he'll always be in your heart.  I'm sure in time you'll look back and enjoy your fond memories of Ralph - and again he'll bring a bright smile to your face.  Our pets always have a knack of doing that, whether they are still with us or not.

Big Beary Hugs to you both

Thanks everyone, it's been a hard day. I went in and sat with him a while today and the vet nurse who was with him said he had a peaceful end. I still have Lily to distract me, she's like the Yang to Ralph's Ying, the completely opposite! I can't bury him until Chris gets back from Adelaide so we will go get him on Monday and buy a tree for him.

Linda, sorry to hear your very sad news, as long as he is not suffering anymore just try and remember the good times.  Thinking of you it will be difficult for a while. Sending you hugs.

I fear for my old dog, he is 15 and arthritic, having problems getting up today with all this cold weather, once he is going though he is his normal self.

I am so sorry, Linda. It is a painful and helpless experience, knowing it's best to let them go, but wanting to hold on to them. You're in my thoughts.

Hugs, Marlys

Dear Linda,

It is no suprise that our pets are so special to us and losing one is just devestating. I am sure that Ralph held a special place in your heart and it will take time for you to recover. It is lovely to remember him with a tree, we did that wiht our first cat who live to an old age 17. Wishing you comfort  at this very sad time.

Cheers Susan
