Iam very happy to say I won the Professional section of the Mohair Challenge at the Craft, Quilt & Stitch Show in Perth last weekend with my latest Chimp 'ADDIE". Kim Russell and Helen Gleeson were the judges for my section and I am so glad I didn't know that before I entered...SCARY! It was a wonderful weekend and I got to yak to lots of lovely bear ladies and watch a couple of demos. A big THANKS to Jennie Boylan from the FANTASTIC shop THE TEDDY TREE for making it all happen each year and sponsoring the comp. What would we all do here without you and your wonderful shop! Hello my name is Sasha Smith I live in Perth W.A.. I've only been making bears for a short time and am very excited!I feel like I've definately found my mojo. As I'm new on the scene my teacher Kay Cooper suggested I enter the W.A. Craft, Quilt and Stitch show - Teddy Bear Challenge 2009. I was stunned when I discovered that I won the novice section - mohair challenge with my wee angel bear "Sky". Now I just can't wait to make more bears! Winning the novice section has certainly given me alot of inspiration. I didn't think I even had a chance LOL
