Hi everybody! I thought I might share with you a tip about lining old leather. I am about to make a bear out of leather from an old coat. It will be my first leather bear. Not fully leather : mohair and paws are in mohair. I was adviced on Teddy Talk to line old leather if it is a bit thin and stretchy. The only lining materail I have at home is some Vlieseline (iron heat on material) so I decided to test it on a tiny piece of leather. It worked great so I cut pieces of Vlieseline to match my bear parts and did all the lining this afternoon. With this lining material, we just need to iron for about 10 seconds, so the leather does not suffer of the heat. The rion has to be set as for wool/silk. To know more about Vlieseline, just ask Google! Beary hugs, Sophie. | |
