Very nice story about who you are and where you live. I didn't know that you and Ruth are sisters. What a great thing to have a common passion in making teddy bears.
I also have an interest in family history, but seem to be the only one in my family who is. I wonder about ancestors and am awed by the fact that I wouldn't be here if my lineage didn't go back hundreds of not tens of thousands of year. Many people seem to think it all started with great-grandparents and think no further back than that.
Congratulations on being the Featured Artist. Oh, and I love your bears and have great admiration for those who create miniatures.

Hi Gail enjoyed reading your story I have been through your part of the world and loved it. I would love to see lots of horses everyday I love the races it's funny I have always lived near racecourses now I think about it Randwick now Wyong and Gosford my Dad was a punter so spent many racedays on course when I was little although I only really have a bet on the Melbourne Cup Sweeps. My daughter had her own horse until recently when he was retired due to arthritis in his knees. Now living a happy life on a farm nearby so we can visit. The horse not my daughter LOL. Anyway congrats on being our featured artist this month.

Hi ladies, Firstly, thanks so much Sandi for making me the featured artist of the month, I am very honoured . Ruth yes it is a pity you won't be visiting at the time, but thats your fault for living so far away and not being able to drive That answers Lesley,no unfortunately we don't live that close, about a 3 and a half hours or so drive away, but Ruth does come down to visit quite often as our parents live quite close to me between Newmarket and Cambridge. Marlys, I have found it so fascinating finding out about family members I knew nothing about, I enjoy all the detective work involved in the research. I laughed when I saw your comment Raewyn. Although My husband Ken has a love of horses and is very knowledgeable about racehorses and he has visited, and although we have lived in Newmarket for 22 years ,it was only 2 years ago that I went to my first race meeting, it was a "Newmarket Nights" one. In Newmarket in the summer, they combine Friday evening racing with a concert, this year they even had the Pussycat Dolls playing there ! I love to read the featured artist articles I think it helps us all to know each other a little better, so again, thanks Sandi for your stirling work for TBACA.

I can't believe that Ruth doesn't drive! I thought everyone could drive these days...but after my episode just recently, I don't bame her...its safer not to.
Gail you are most welcome, it's fun working on these stories and learning more about you the person rather than just the bearmaker. Enjoy your day in the sun!

Hi Gail, really enjoyed reading your story too ! I don't have a sister but I imagine it must be very jolli indeed when you do and both enjoy the same interest. Ruth and I are partners in a Chrissy swap ... am working on her Ted at the moment. Hugs, Robyn

The River cam in Cambridge is very pretty in parts, and whilst I like to look at the punts, I don't think I would like to try it, I am sure I would fall in!. It is lovely to have a sister with the same interests, it's just a pity she lives so far away, so I can't just pop round for a chat and a sewing session.
