I am brokenhearted to have to tell you that my husband Bernie has died.  He came home after the stem cell transplant just before Christmas, but was very unwell.  He was eventually put back in hospital for more tests, and they found that the Cancer had spread to his Liver and Spleen.  It had grown so quickly, and was so aggressive that there was nothing more that they could do.  From the time of this new dianosis, he only lived for one more week.  It is such an awful disease.

I am still so completely numb, and I just can't imagine life without him.  Britty, our daughter has been just wonderful, and she is coping really well.  Thank you all so much for your kind words and thoughts throughout his illness, it has really meant so much and has really helped me during some very difficult times.

My thought are with you, Iam So So sorry! May his wonderful soul rest in peace now. I wish for  you strenghth and a life full of beautiful memories......

I feel so sad for you I just cannot find the right words. I have been following all your posts about Bernie's illness with a lot of concern, even more as my own brother is also ill. Consequently I always felt a special link between us.

I think my brain is still rejecting the truth, thinking that cannot be. I inconsciently made a connection between Bernie and Denis, as many times, Denis was having problems at the same periods as Bernie.

Life can be so unfair. Poor Bernie has been such a great trouper and so brave!

For sure now he is an angel and I am sure he will always embrace you with loving eyes as you and your family did so much for him.

I am going to light a candle for Bernie and I know each time I will think about my brother I will think about Bernie.

I know there is no word, no sentence strong enough to comfort you, but know I will always be there for you.
