I have been busy with new designs for the Fantasy Ball and I am hoping like hell everyone else is too! Three sewn and stuffed, just need finishing touches!! But be warned there are more funny peculiar critters running amuck in my head, just bashing on the inside of my scone to get out and onto the drawing board!! * * P.S. Plus there's been quite of lot of artwork preparations in the pipeline!!

Hi There, I have been working on my entry for the ACDA and thinking of a new design for the ball..way behind you Sandi. I am going to start drawing today and hopefully have something to start on soon. It sounds like we will see some interesting creatures at the show. Cheers Susan

Fussing over ACDA ... probably time to just go for it, dye and cut out ...do it ! A commission and a new little Panda are keeping me busy ... neverending rain is starting to cause problems with our phone and internet line...water around the line causes big probs here. Check out Ruth's updated web page at http://www.flutter-by-bears.co.uk/Flutter-By-Bears/Home.. it's beautiful!

Awwwwww , Robyn you are such a sweetie!! *blushes* When you said you had problems with water and your phone line it reminded me how at the time I worked for BT (British telecoms company in the '80s) the engineers used to advise some people to go and water the line pole - if they had one - on / near the property !!! Is the amount of rain seriously unusual Robyn? I love hearing all about where you ladies live - as you know! Mini Hugs , Ruth

Hi Ruth, no the rain fall is not unusual... it is just that it has been constant day and night over several days and so no chance of draining away. However things are looking up... 2 days with no significant falls...all the wires/phone/internet working well at the moment! Mmmm water the line pole that's a funny one ! No sewing today , with one thing and another, but doggies down to the beach this arvo and a jolli good time there...one brave wind surfer out ..was a beaut South Easterly blowing in but jellies washed up on the beach and the Life Guards pulling in the Nets so conditions not safe for swimming. Shame because the water temp is loverly!. Actually the rain just started again as I type beary hugs Robyn

I really wish we could have some of your rain, Robyn, it's so dry here..... but that's normal for this time of year. At least we still have water in our dam and if the rains start on Q this year we should be ok. I've been plodding away at orders, workshop samples and thinking thoughts about the fantasy ball......this is going to be real hard for me as I have a very Earth-bound feet! Still, it can't hurt to expand my horizons!

Hi Girls!
We've been having lovely weather up until yesterday when it turned all grey and dismal...I wish when it did that it would rain properly and fill the tanks, but it was just mist all day.
I was hanging washing out at 1.30 am, but it's undercover. When we built our new terrace I asked Glenn to put up one of those on the wall clothes lines and it's been wonderful. The only drawback is I have to bring in the washing before he lights the BBQ!
Linda, I am sure you will come up with something fantastic, just let your imagination take you by the hand. The "Balls" were designed to make you think a little and stretch a little, but most of all to allow you to have fun with your craft. I think we all get stuck in a rut sometimes and need a little push, MG I know I certainly do.

Took a week off to read a book and catch up on business paperwork. I will begin cutting out my piece for the ACDA awards tonight. It has been in my head for months. It will definately be interesting to see it come to life. We have had the coldest winter on record for our area of Florida. I am really looking forward to warmer temps. Sandi, I love challenges and themes ...they really get the creative juices flowing!!

Strangely it is still raining here! Ruth the sea water is about 25/30C...all good for... Crocs especially with thunder storms around...thunder and lightining motivates Crocs to build their nest and mate...and dispersing youngsters to find new ground....OOPS whats that dark thing moving up on shore? SCREAM .... no just joking Ruth ,,, but it has actually happened ...recently! Infact dog owners have been advised to keep their dogs on a lead and well back from the shore line...Crocs love a bit of DOG!

Oh yes , rather !! Lesley if I could pass a law making all men dress only in Georgian/Regency clothing I'd do it in a flash! Not sure if you saw Bath on my blog a while back .... I'd happily take up residence in the fashion museum there (which just happens to be housed in the Assembly Rooms!) OMG the chandeliers ......

I have been coming up with the craziest of ideas for combining my older style bears and the fantasy idea. Goodness knows what I shall end up with. It is fun though. Have been just swamped with all the paperwork following up after Bernie's death, and it has really been getting to me. The amount of copies, certified copies, affidavits, statutory declarations etc., that I have had to do has been just ridiculous. I can't imagine how older people get on who lose their partners. They would get just so confused. Going from this depressing paperwork to coming up with fantasy ideas has been really refreshing. This show is going to be really wonderful to participate in. I am starting my pieces now just in case my weird ideas don't work. Ha.

It's good to see you having some fun with it Christine.
Ruth, I recently purchased a book on 17th and 18th Century Fashion Detail...you would love all the photos of the costumes. The detail in the costumes is fantastic and so hard to believe that they were all made by hand...just immaculate needlework!
Lesley I didn't know you were a Mr.Darcy fan...looks like there are a few of us born in the wrong century!

Ruth - I was in the UK in 1997 and we went to Bath - I thought the Fashion Museum was fantastic! Its still raining here - 10th day in a row - it may be a good one to watch the P & P series again!
Sandi - I'm a great fan. Also Love Sense and Sensibility- in fact most from that era and the BBC do it so well. I really miss Sunday night TV when they used to have all those series on - Barchester Chronicles,Upstairs Downstairs etc

I have just returned from a rushed trip interstate....family health issues but the visit I had will stay with me forever.....my friend and I talked not one but two legs off her table..he he. Only took 3 CD's with me so having listened to them for 14hrs while driving..guess I won't play them for awhile. Still playing around with my latest design...going to try an open mouth on the next one. The rain is falling today, a good day to sew as tea is organised... Hope you all have fun in June.....
